Attention Howe AM KTC students: you will not attend KTC on Thursday, Aug 16. You will be attending Howe orientation on campus. You will not be counted absent at KTC that morning. #HPSLions
First day of the 2018-19 school year for students is Thursday, Aug 16. Note change in HS start/end times. HS first bell is 7:50 am and HS release bell is 3:15 pm. Elem/MS start time is 8 am and release time is 3:10 pm (same as last year). #HPSLions
Sports Update: All softball & baseball games have been cancelled for Thurs, Aug 16; HS Baseball CASC Tourn is cancelled, all softball games have been cancelled for Fri, Aug 17; HS Baseball vs McCurtain is currently still scheduled for Fri at 4 pm at Home. #HPSLions

We would like to invite parents of our Howe Johnson O'Malley students to a brief orientation on the services the JOM program provides for our students. The orientation is scheduled from 5 - 5:30 pm. A representative from the Choctaw Nation High School Student Services will present a brief overview of services from 5:15 - 5:30 pm, and will also have a booth in the HS from 5:40 - 7:30 pm during the Back To School Open House, August 14, 2018.

To be eligible for services through the Johnson O'Malley (JOM) program at Howe Public Schools, students must be enrolled in the district, and parents must:
Provide the student's tribal membership card, and/or parent's card & child's state-issued birth certificate.
Once a child is verified by the JOM office staff, the following are services that the JOM program offers to Howe students. We will cover these services and share additional information about the 2018-19 Parent Committee meetings, etc.

Cap and Gown Fees for Kdg, 8th Grade and HS

The Howe JOM Program was chosen as the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's Exemplary Program for the 2016-17 school year. Please help us continue to improve our programs for our Native American students at Howe Public Schools. We hope you will be able to attend this orientation meeting. $25 school supply Wal-Mart gift cards are available for all verified Howe Johnson O' Malley Indian students (PK - 12th grade). Supply cards can be picked up at the Elementary or HS Office during regular school hours. Parents can also pick up cards during the Open House on Aug. 14 between 5-8 pm. A parent/guardian signature is required at time of pick-up and the student must be a verified JOM student. Fall and/or Spring JOM Academic Incentives can also pick-up and sign for these at the same time. Spring Choctaw STAR awards will be available shortly after the school year begins.
