Howe Public Schools has scheduled two online safety presentations for Thursday, Sept. 21 during the Parent/Teacher Conference evening. RSVP at https://forms.gle/SY3fAq8C5rn2TWv26
Session 1: (4:15 pm - 5:15 pm) is geared for PK-6th grade parents/guardians/custodial parents/custodial grandparents. Pre-K-6th grade students are NOT allowed to attend session 1 due to the content of the presentation.
Session 2: (5:30 pm - 6:30 pm) is geared for 7th-12th grade parents/guardians/custodial parents/custodial grandparents. Students ages 13+ are allowed to attend session 2 with their parent/guardian.
Please RSVP (at the above link) by Wednesday, Sept. 20th on this form. Parents/Guardians and custodial parents/custodial grandparents of our Howe Public Schools students are invited to attend. After the presentation, the family member who attends the entire presentation will receive a meal ticket for their family. Meal ticket includes: 1 hamburger or 1 hotdog + fixins' + 1 bag of chips, & 1 bottle of water per immediate family member (this includes: mom/dad/guardian or custodial parent/custodial grandparent, Howe students, and their siblings under the age of 18).
Presentation details: Homeland Security Computer Forensics Expert, Anthony Meter, will provide valuable information concerning how to keep our children safer online and will give professional safety tips for those who attend. The following topics will be covered: cyber bullying, dangerous apps, dark web, fentanyl, sextortion, human trafficking, and sexting.
School Age Childcare: During the event we will have child care available for school age children (Pre-K & up) on the front lawn of the school in the form of various blow up slides. Staff members and student volunteers will monitor and watch over children while their parents are in the meeting. Immediately following the meeting, you will receive your meal tickets, you may pick up your children, & proceed to the Grill located between the Auditorium & cafeteria. You may pick up your food and eat in the cafeteria or take it to go.

Howe FFA will be having its first chapter meeting on September 14th during the first lunch. All FFA members are strongly encouraged to attend, and food will be provided as well as drinks.

The Howe Lions advanced to the finals of the Cameron Tournament with a 5-2 win over McCurtain on Friday. The Lions will face Cameron in the championship game on Saturday at Cameron. 400 PM start. #HPSLions

Howe FFA officers hosted leadership training led by former State FFA President Brandon Baumgarten Friday September 1st. They gained Leadership and Soft Skills to prepare them to lead and grow their chapter this year.




Howe FFA and 4-H members competing the the Leflore County Skill-a-thon contest. Students apply knowledge gained through all avenues of agriculture.




This week's Howe Intern of the Week is Skylar Jefferson. He is a senior at Howe High School and interns for instructor Mrs. Joyce Denton. Skylar plans to attend Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau after graduation and obtain a certificate in Welding. He plans to further pursue his welding training by attending the Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.


This week's intern of the week is Declan Byford. He is a senior at Howe High School and an intern for Mrs. Tammy Parks, Director of Instructional Technology/Federal Programs. Declan has been working as an IT Assistant. His future plans include attending Kiamichi Technology Center with an emphasis in Computer Science. He later plans to attend Carl Albert State College and the University of Oklahoma majoring in Meteorology. #HPSLions

Howe Intern of the Week for August 21-25 is Jazmine Benson. She is a senior at Howe High School and interns for the high school math instructor, Mr. Michael McMahan. Jazmine plans to attend Carl Albert State College after graduation and further her education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater majoring in Counseling. She plans to become a Licensed Professional Counselor with an emphasis in mental health disorders. #HPSLions
